Toxic Brain Injury

What is Toxic Brain Injury
Accidental carbon monoxide poisoning leads to thousands of emergency room visits each year and can result in brain injury. Toxins from fires, burn pits, chemical fumes, pesticides, and other environmental hazards can lead to brain damage as well. In some cases, these toxins can injure the brain directly and in others, they can indirectly cause harm by preventing normal levels of oxygen from reaching the brain.
Common Symptoms
Symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and other Dementias may include any number of the following:
Fatigue
Emotional disorders
Mood swings
Dizziness or light headedness
Movement disorders
Headache
Nausea
Impaired memory
Impacted Areas of the Brain
Without the kind of brain imaging that CereScan provides, toxic brain injuries can be extremely difficult to diagnose, especially when you are not aware of your potential exposure to a toxin. Carbon monoxide and other toxic gases are odorless and colorless, and you may have been unknowingly exposed to these chemicals.
