Patient Process

We Make the Invisible, Visible

At CereScan® we provide two types of nuclear medicine procedures for the brain – qSPECT® and DaTscan™. Your doctor may decide to order one of these studies, along with other medical tests and clinical exams, to help decide if your symptoms are due to a complex neurological, psychiatric or other disorder.

Because some conditions begin with changes at the cellular level, nuclear medicine, or molecular imaging, has the potential to identify disorders in an earlier, more treatable stage, often before structural imaging and other tests are able to reveal abnormalities. Based on medical literature, the following disorders can have signature blood flow patterns that can be visualized with nuclear medicine:

Start the Process

Step 1: Talk to a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC). Send our PCCs an email at or give them a call at (866) 722-4806 option #1 with any questions you may have. They will provide you with what you need to get the ball rolling.

Step 2: Get a doctor’s order. If you have not already done so, schedule an appointment with your provider to get an order for imaging. They can determine which nuclear imaging examination best suits your diagnostic needs.

Step 3: Complete the pre-scan packet. Your PCC will send you a packet of information that will need to be completed before scheduling an appointment, including a medical questionnaire, and insurance, cash-pay or Care Credit information.

Once we receive the order from your doctor’s office and the completed copy of your pre-scan packet, your PCC will introduce you to our scheduler to book an office visit.

What You Will Receive

CereScan® provides diagnostic impressions that have the power to change the way clinicians and patients communicate about brain disorders. When you schedule functional brain imaging you will receive:

  • A detailed clinical interview to review your medical history and symptoms.
  • Brain imaging that analyzes how your brain functions.
  • Measurement of functionality in up to 120 regions of your brain.
  • An individualized diagnostic radiology report that combines clinical information and data from your imaging.
  • A personalized neuro-diagnostic visual supplement.
  • A copy of your brain images.
